LIMPOPO, POLOKWANE: Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) and the industry are fully
geared for the annual Africa’s Travel Indaba taking place in Durban from 9-11 May 2023
at Nkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (ICC). Team Limpopo will once again be led by LTA Board Chairperson, Mr. Andrew Dipela supported by the CEO of
LTA, Mr. Moses Ngobeni, who is attending the trade show for the first time as the CEO
of the Agency. Africa’s Travel Indaba is the largest trade show and tourism marketing event on the African calendar and one of the top three ‘must visit’ events of its kind on the global calendar. It showcases the widest variety of Southern Africa’s best tourism products and attracts international visitors and media from across the world.
Limpopo’s approach to the 2023 will focus on Heritage and Culture with emphasis on
sustainable development and greening highlighting tourism icons such as Kruger
National Park and Mapungubwe as key focus areas. The emphasis will also be placed on
the following four clusters, mega conservation, family and recreation, sport and wildlife, and heritage and culture.
The 2023 approach will also see destination Limpopo further consolidating the concept of Limpopo Pavilion that will see all products from the province under one roof.
The CEO of LTA, Mr. Moses Ngobeni, is excited to be part of the amazing Limpopo team,
and he said, “The objectives for participating at this third biggest travel show in the
world are to position Limpopo Province as a leading destination in Southern Africa, to
position Limpopo Province as a unique heritage and culture destination in Southern
Africa and to facilitate business exhibition space for both established products, SMMEs
and partners through the Limpopo Pavilion. Our intention is to see Limpopo do business
that will have ripple effects later by driving droves of people to visit destination Limpopo for business and leisure thus growing the economy and creating more jobs for
the people in the province. We are confident the delegates participating in this show
will make the most of it as that will grow their enterprises”. The Limpopo delegation will resemble the province’s character by celebrating unity and diversity.
On the second day of the show, 10 May 2023, Limpopo delegation will celebrate Limpopo Day by displaying the culturally diverse outlook of the destination.
Limpopo Tourism Agency will take in total thirty (30) tourism products, that is, both established and SMMEs who will all be under one pavilion displaying unity of the province. Limpopo will use this opportunity to meet with members of the Zambezi Destination that comprises tourism authorities of SADC countries such as Zambia, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Botswana with Limpopo representing South Africa.
